The year 2022 was a transformational year for us at Growth HQ. From expanding the team and opening up a new office to extending client’s contracts and giving back, it was a year full of changes, learnings and progress which have helped elevate our business to the next level.

Now that we’re halfway through the first month of 2023, we wanted to take a moment to highlight some of the great achievements and milestones that have shaped these last 12 months.

2022 achievements

Business performance

Having a clear goal and vision, a growing client base and a hard-working and motivated team have all contributed to great business results in 2022. Growth HQ saw record financial growth; doubling its revenue and increasing its profit by 150% compared to the previous year.

This strong performance confirms the need and demand for marketing channels beyond the traditional heavy spend on Facebook and Google's ad engines. Holistic affiliate agencies that unlock growth across traditional affiliate partners, influencers, email marketing, paid PR and more can help build a successful full-funnel affiliate programme that drives true value to the brand.

Client portfolio

In 2022, not only did we extend contracts with existing clients but we also onboarded 7 new clients to our portfolio, with 5 of these carrying on into 2023. From small start-ups in fintech to scale-ups in health, fashion, and everything in between, we’ve managed to build a diverse portfolio of clients that are the perfect fit for our agency.

Building a strong and loyal network of clients means more opportunities for growth and we aim to continue working with amazing brands and helping them achieve their goals and objectives in 2023.

Doubling team size

Adding new clients to our portfolio has meant expanding our team and hiring more people. As a small business, we recognise that growth is only possible if you have a solid team of employees that share the company’s culture and values.

During 2022 we made some great new additions to Growth HQ. Francesca Wardzinski joined back in May 2022 and was quickly promoted to Marketing Executive, Francesca De Cata started during the summer and has taken over our brand and socials and finally, Graeme Boase came onboard as our Account Director and has proven to be a great asset to our team.

London office

Another exciting business milestone was opening up our London office branch in October 2022. With our client network and team rapidly growing, the next logical step in our growth plan was to expand our business.

By opening up a second business location, we aim to be closer to our London-based clients as well as tap into a larger hiring pool in order to grow our workforce.

Social events

Organising events and activities outside of the workplace is a great way of bringing the team closer, strengthening work relationships and spending quality time together.

In 2022 we held our first official Summer Party in London. The Growth HQ team tested their skills, solved mysteries and faced mental and physical challenges at The Crystal Maze Live Experience and also enjoyed a lovely evening meal at Dishoom.

Our Christmas Party was another fantastic event. The team were treated to a three-course meal, gave each other gifts for Secret Santa and had loads of fun playing darts, shuffleboard and singing legendary karaoke songs!

Throughout the year we also enjoyed team breakfasts and lunches, visits to the Christmas market and walks down the beach.

Taking website and socials to next level

One of our main objectives for 2022 was improving our online brand presence. This meant working on our website, blog and LinkedIn page in order to take them to the next level. During the summer we brainstormed ideas, established content pillars and created a content calendar in order to organise our efforts and build a framework for what we planned to share on our online channels.

In Q4 2022 we increased our engagement rate on LinkedIn by almost 30% compared to the previous quarter and published a total of 5 blog posts focusing on a range of different topics such as employee wellbeing and affiliate marketing step guides.

Giving back

Last year saw us double down on our commitment to giving back to the local community. We decided that 2% of our quarterly revenue would be destined to help charitable causes the Growth HQ team support and believe in.

Throughout 2022 we’ve helped Surfers Against Sewage to keep UK coasts safe and clean by taking part in a Bournemouth beach clean and making a donation to the Ocean School and Plastic Free Schools programmes. We’ve also done our part in supporting families in need and those suffering from homelessness by contributing to Hope For Food and Whitechapel Mission, two local organisations who do amazing work in London and Bournemouth.

2023 plans

This 2023 is all about investing in sustainable growth and we’ve got some amazing things planned. Expanding the team across our two offices, supercharging our Growth HQ blog and LinkedIn account, growing our client base as well as extending our depth of work with existing clients, attending conferences, strengthening brand awareness and improving our business operations, are only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what is in store for us during the next 12 months!
